Okay, if you've gotten this far and saw the other things people are saying about A.R.T., you're probably yelling at the screen "So what the heck is it?"
Trust me, I get it. I was JUST as curious before I got trained. So here is more information, directly from the acceleratedresolutiontherapy.com website.
"ART is unique in that it combines the enormous power of eye movements to allow voluntary changes in the client’s mind with well-established therapies like Gestalt, Psychodynamic Therapy and Guided Imagery. Within the ART protocol, the eye movements, along with other ART enhancements, make these therapies work much faster and more effectively.
With these therapies, combined with ART’s eye movements and other ART enhancements, many mental health problems other than Post Traumatic Stress can also be resolved quickly. Among the things ART can deal with are OCD, Eating Disorders, Generalized Anxiety and Generalized Depressive Disorders. ART can deal with traumas often associated with Dyslexia but also go beyond that to improve reading!
The eye movements are calming and therapeutic is evidenced-based. It has been shown that they produce theta waves in the brain. Theta waves have been connected to creativity, intuition, daydreaming. These brain waves are often present during meditative states.
One of the special aspects of ART is that when clients replace their negative images with positive ones they don’t need to talk to the therapist about any details of the trauma. This is because ART is procedural, though creative; and the client is really in control of the process, while the ART Therapist is a helpful guide. This makes the therapy easier on the client and easier on the therapist."

"After a year of overwhelming grief, I decided for my mental health I needed to see someone. I had
been through therapy my whole life, but it never seemed to work for me, but I was desperate. I felt stuck in
sadness and wanted so badly to just enjoy life again. That is when Brooke came into my life. She has
changed every negative thought I had about therapist. She listens without judgement, she know when
to comfort and when to ask questions, she knows the right questions to ask without feeling invasive, she
made me feel so comfortable that I wanted to open up and share more, and she give you resources to help
find your path again. As she was helping me get through “my layers”, she introduced me to A.R.T.
Therapy to help me. A.R.T has been an absolute game changer for me. A.R.T. Therapy has helped me on
major emotional hurdles and events like grief, fears, and anxiety but it also has helped me on the
'small' things that overly impact my emotions for 'no reason.'
Ever since I was a child, I have been obsessed with a certain famous family. My emotions took
over whenever something happened with this family. My emotions felt like this family were actually my
immediate family. I knew logically they weren’t my parents, siblings, or relatives but I couldn’t let go.
Their happiness was my happiness; their grief was my grief. Brooke recommended A.R.T. Therapy to
help. With the A.R.T. Therapy, it helped me realize and understand why I had this attachment and finally
helped me let go. I still have an interest, I still care, I still get happy or sad for them but only for that
moment. I am able to forget about them once I am done reading about them instead of carrying the
burden for hours, weeks or sometimes months. I don’t wake up worrying about their issues when they
have absolutely no bearing on my life.
I came to Brooke with a lot of anxiety especially towards going to the dentist. I had a lot of
unresolved childhood trauma that I couldn’t even simply speak of making an appointment with a dentist without
having a severe panic attack. Everything had to go through someone else; appointments, treatments,
even payment, it didn’t matter. I would freeze with panic. I would have to be sedated to even get my
teeth cleaned. I knew I needed dental surgery and I was desperate. That is when I found Brooke. After I
was finally able to open-up about my fear, I was introduced to A.R.T. Therapy. It has drastically changed
my life. I was able to not only conquer my fear and anxiety with the dentist, but I am able to interact and
manage my own care. I was able to have not just 1 surgery but 3 surgeries without any anxiety or panic
attacks. I was also able to overcome my worst fears' come true recently and I was able to conquer it by myself
without any negative feelings. I am truly blessed that I found Brooke after dealing with this fear for
decades."

This comes directly from the Accelerated Resolution Therapy website. It has some helpful information and suggestions on what to do next after your ART session.
What if more problems or trauma arises? This is a good thing. Trauma is like an onion and we are peeling back the layers cautiously and resolutely. If more comes up, we can ART on that next. It allows us to continue to get to the source and root of your trauma/pain. Generally, people feel wonderful after ART sessions and report that it has helped in other ways and areas that they didn't expect.
